A Londonder made a tsnuami-relief donation using lynx -- a text-based browser used by the blind, Unix-users and others -- on Sun's Solaris operating system. The site-operator decided that this 'unusual' event in the system log indicated a hack-attempt, and the police broke down the donor's door and arrested him.

スマトラ沖地震を支援するために寄付をすべく、Solaris上でテキストブラウザ「Lynx」を使って支援団体のサイトへアクセスしたら、運営者にクラッキングとみなされて通報され、警察に逮捕された（！）という記事。詳細には未だ不明の点も多いようだが、ぶっそうな話だ。

このLynx、Googleの「Web マスターのためのガイドライン」では

Lynx などのテキスト ブラウザを使用してサイトを確認してください。サーチ エンジン クローラがサイトを見る際、そのほとんどが Lynx のような見方をします。

と紹介されている。私も記述確認のため時々Lynxを使用するので、他人事とは思えない。知らないUser Agentだというだけで通報されてはたまらない。そのうち、クローラーを巡回させているだけで告訴対象になったり!?　やれやれ……
